1973: Completed diploma at Rosemead High School, Rosemead, CA

1979: Completed Associate of Arts degree in liberal studies at Pasadena City College, Pasadena, CA

1981: Completed Bachelor of Arts degree in two majors, English and philosophy, at California State University at Los Angeles, CA

1981-1982: Teacher of high school English, biology, and history at Chaminade College Preparatory, Canoga Park (now West Hills), CA

1982-1984: Teacher of high school English and Dean of Students (Senior High Campus) at Chaminade

1984: Completed Master of Education degree at Loyola Marymount University, Westchester, CA

1984-1985: Student of mathematics and science, Moorpark College, Moorpark, CA

1984: Part-time tutor of various subjects, including study skills

1994: Tutor of various subjects; photographer selling art at outdoor Arts and Crafts fairs

1995-1996: Private live-in teacher and tutor to the children of actor Robert Urich; personal assistant to Mr. Urich

1997: Completed ESL teacher training with Aeon Corporation, Tokyo, Japan

1997-2001: During my time in Japan I undertook intense informal studies of the religions and culture, culminating in completion of a 188-temple pilgrimage, as well as a 500-kilometer walk along a historic highway
