The ubiquitous
earth god is found on the fronts of many buildings, and under most folk
altars (even the ones in people's homes). Here he has a small
shrine of his own. One should really say "earth gods"
as each one is responsible for the area around him. We actually
saw two such small shrines within the village in Dapeng Fortress. |
